Dr. Mya O. Price is a visionary leader deeply committed to advancing food justice, examining both local and global food system movements, sustainable agriculture, and community well-being. As an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University Global Food Institute, she leverages her extensive background in academia and community engagement to enact substantial change. Known for her pioneering educational strategies, Dr. Price has notably enhanced learning outcomes and student engagement.

In her academic role, Dr. Price teaches transformative courses including "World on a Plate" by José Andrés, "Global Food Institute Freshman Seminar," and "Introduction to Food Studies," skillfully blending theoretical insights with practical challenges to engage students with real-world issues. Her current role as President and CEO of The Root Cause Coalition, her active participation in the DC Food Policy Council, her past leadership at Feeding America's Food Security Equity Impact Fund, and her involvement in the Farm Foundation Agricultural Scholar program underscore her significant contributions to food policy and agricultural innovation.

Holding a Ph.D. in Urban Leadership & Entrepreneurship from the University of the District of Columbia and a Master’s Degree in Community & Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky, Dr. Price brings a wealth of knowledge to her community-centric initiatives.
