Graduate Student Project Assistant
Marian Winters is GFI’s Graduate Student Project Assistant. She is a Master of Public Health candidate at The George Washington University, concentrating in Health Policy. She is passionate about advancing evidence-based, community-informed food and nutrition policies and programs that address structural inequities in access to healthy food.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health with a minor in Law and Society from the University of South Carolina Honors College and has a background in global nutrition, food insecurity, and food safety research. Marian also has experience working in state government on public health law and at the federal level supporting efforts to advance nutrition security.
In her role at GFI, Marian supports the partnership with the Aspen Institute’s Food Leaders Fellowship by assisting with fellow projects, partnership outreach and communications, and managing student staff.
