Melissa Maitin-Shepard, MPP, is an adjunct faculty member at the Global Food Institute and Founder and Principal of MMS Health Strategies, LLC. Melissa has nearly 20 years of experience in food, nutrition, and public health policy. She has taught undergraduate food policy courses in both the Global Food Institute and Milken Institute School of Public Health. As a consultant, Melissa provides policy research/analysis, writing, and advocacy strategy advisory services to leading national nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and others committed to advancing nutrition and public health. Prior to beginning consulting work, Melissa held national policy positions with several public health nonprofit organizations.
Melissa holds a Master of Public Policy degree with a health policy concentration and a Bachelor of Arts degree, both from the George Washington University.
