Zacharey Carmichael is an economist in the Food and Nutrition Security team of the @World Bank’s Agriculture and Food Global Practice. He describes a the way data availability and technological innovations are predicting food crises before they happen. This integrated approach, called the Global Food and Nutrition Security Dashboard, tracks past crisis indicators and current developments, and has successfully be utilized in Somalia and Yemen so far.

Innovative approaches to our increasingly dire global hunger crisis like this one have the potential to get us one step closer to the ultimate goal: ending food crises worldwide.
