Food and Agriculture Policy Summit

The Global Food Institute at GW, Food Tank, the Culinary Institute of America, and José Andrés hosted the inaugural Food and Agriculture Policy Summit in October 2025.This Summit was supported by corporate partners Driscoll’s, Oatly and Meatable.

This full-day, in-person event featured dynamic conversations with thought leaders across the food system on policies that can support a healthier population and planet. Through inspiring keynotes, fireside chats, interactive dialogues, and lively panel discussions, the summit dived into practical actionable policy ideas.

GFI Food System Collaborative

Dive into this interdisciplinary seminar series where GW faculty and staff apply systems thinking and modeling to tackle complex challenges in food and agriculture. Building Systems Dynamic Connections (BSDC) fosters collaboration, sparks new ideas, and provides a platform to share innovative research and approaches across the university community.

Black Farmers and the Food System Conversation Series

Led by series host Dr. Mya O. Price and co-hosted by GW’s Global Food Institute, GW’s Institute for Socioeconomic Opportunity, and GW’s Department of History, this series educated, inspired, and motivated students, faculty, policymakers, farmers, and other stakeholders who want to elevate the impact of Black farmers in their community.
